At JBCS, our staff has high expectations for themselves and the students within our building and are committed to ensure each student is successful. Staff, students and parents have created a wonderful school community that values academics, athletics and the fine arts programs. At JBCS we offer a wide variety of extra-curricular and co-curricular programs, using positive attitude and commitment as a basis for success. We know that only the individual can make their high school career a positive experience, therefore, by encouraging participation and enjoyment of school life will enable our students in the direction of responsible involvement in their communities and our society as a whole. So please, as a family make the most of your time at JBCS and get involved by showing your BULLDAWG pride. Parents, this means you as well…the school has an open-door policy – we always encourage your support and involvement within.

As in all communities, guidelines are necessary to ensure our school functions effectively. As communication between teachers, parents and students is vital, this handbook has been carefully prepared and is designed to support our families in understanding the expectations for behavior and conduct in the John Barsby community and outlines the procedures to be followed when these expectations are not met. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with its contents so that you understand the information and expectations provided.

We strive to maintain a safe and caring environment that allows everyone to feel like they are a viable and important member of our family. This goal requires all of us to work together as a team to make that environment a reality! To be a responsible citizen we must watch out for one another.
